Odessa weather is classified as moderately continental, mainly regulated by the city’s proximity to the Black Sea, which helps to soften frosts in winter, keeping temperatures pleasantly warm during the long summer season. Odessa weather is also renewed for its abundant sunshine; with around 300 days of sunny days per year, it’s no wonder the city is the largest resort on the coast of The Black Sea.

Winters in Odessa are short and rather mild; temperatures usually hover just above freezing point and snow fall is rare. January and February are the coldest months of the year, registering temperatures lows of around -5C.

By late May, Odessa weather takes a turn towards considerably finer conditions. With sea water temperatures around 20°C, bathing season is well and truly on its way, attracting thousands of tourists to the city, earning it the title of “Southern Palmira”.  Odessa weather during July, the hottest month of the season, average temperatures linger around 25C, although recordings of 35C are quite common.

June is the wettest month of the year, with an average rainfall of 45mm falling over a period of 8 days. In sharp contrast, March is the driest month with a meager average of 20mm over 7 days. Odessa’s annual precipitation stands at 389.00mm.
